ContextVision Signs CT product agreement with leading OEM

BOSTON, Mass. and STOCKHOLM, Sweden – August 11, 2008 – ContextVision, software imaging partner for leading medical imaging manufacturers worldwide, today announced an agreement with a global OEM for its GOPView® CT image enhancement software. The OEM will incorporate GOPView CT into products that will be launched in 2009. GOPView CT will reduce noise while enhancing fine structure and edges, producing an easier-to read-image.

“GOPView CT delivers improved image quality as well as the opportunity for reduced patient exposure,” said Jan Erik Hedborg, CEO of ContextVision.  “This is a strategic agreement since it opens up the continued development of ContextVision’s 3D image enhancement product for CT.”

ContextVision celebrates twenty-five years of medical image enhancement this year and has more than 35,000 installed OEM systems. To learn more about ContextVision and GOPView CT, or to download a product sheet, visit the ContextVision Web site.

About GOPView CT

ContextVision’s proprietary GOP® technology, an adaptive algorithm, enables GOPView CT to enhance CT output images, leading to greater diagnostic confidence. Additionally, in some implementations, users may use a lower patient dose and achieve a comparable image quality. Several clinical studies have shown that images enhanced using GOPView CT show finer details than images created with normal CT doses and can reduce dose levels by 30 to 70%. This type of dose reduction benefits both patents and hospitals. For patients, the low dose translates to less risk without sacrificing image quality or diagnosis accuracy. Hospitals using GOPView CT in this manner will experience decreased wear and tear on X-ray tubes.
