ContextVision Expands its Customer Base in North America

Manufacturers select ContextVision for unprecedented noise reduction and real-time image enhancement

BOSTON, Mass. and STOCKHOLM, Sweden – November 9, 2011 – ContextVision, the software imaging partner for the most recognized medical imaging manufacturers worldwide has added three customers to its growing North American customer base. The new customers rely on ContextVision’s Ultrasound product family and digital X-ray products to deliver unprecedented image quality to their end customers. The manufacturers selected ContextVision for its unique capacity to reduce noise while enhancing fine structure edges, as well as for the specially-designed solutions for difficult patients.

In recent years, there has been a steady rise in the use of Ultrasound, both in diagnostic and image guided applications, caused by the heightened awareness of radiation’s harmful effects. This awareness has led to an increased focus on the cumulative patient dose received from a wide variety of X-ray devices. Clinical Direct Focused Enhancement (DFE) allows US PLUSView™ users to benefit from technology that enables feature/region specific enhancement, a first in the OEM market.

In addition to new Ultrasound and digital X-ray customers in North America, ContextVision continues to expand worldwide with a 14% increase in Ultrasound sales over the past year. ContextVision has yet again developed new algorithms to provide a full range of Ultrasound image enhancement capabilities, including deeper penetration, edge sharpening, contrast enhancement and improved speckle reduction features.
“Our dedicated team of application engineers allows us to deliver the best technology to our customers,” says Anita Tollstadius, CEO of ContextVision. “Using our unique image enhancement technology, specific underlying structures can be better visualized providing more accurate diagnoses for patients and increased throughput for imaging facilities.”

All ContextVision products rely on the propriertary algorithm, GOP®, which mimics the human eye’s method of finding information and analyzing structures, enables the software to distinguish between true and false information (e.g. noise, artifacts) and accurately identifies true structures.
